Watercolor summer in Harjavalta 22.-28.7.2024
The National Watercolor Summer was organized for the 18th time in Harjavalla in cooperation with the Finnish Watercolor Art Association, Sataopisto, the Emil Cedercreutz Museum and the Harjavalla Art Society.
Dive into watercolor with courage and curiosity. Theory and creativity in lectures and practical work under the guidance of a teacher. Watercolor with a suitable painting technique, looking for something new. The expressions of watercolor, such as the translucency of colors, are pursued together with compatible themes. Paintings are examined in joint feedback sessions, where color theory and composition rules are also repeated. The course is suitable for all those who want to develop their own technique and expression and prepares them for further courses. Watercolor painting, taking into account the starting points and goals of each. Even if it's your first time picking up a brush, you're welcome!
In Harjavalla, the Emil Cedercreutz museum opened on July 28. wonderful watercolor summer biennial exhibition "Colors of light"! The paintings in the exhibition were created during the course summers of 2023–2024 and more than 200 watercolors are on display. The artistic director of the exhibition has been the artist Tatsuo Hoshika. In addition to SAy and the museum, cooperation has been done with Sataopisto and the Harjavalla Regional Art Society in the arrangements of the summer courses and the exhibition.
